You're paying for ads. You should know which ones work.

Now your race's own Meta pixel, Google Analytics and Google Ads tracking run right on your Run This race pages. So do TikTok, X, Pinterest, Snapchat and Microsoft Ads.

Paste an ID and save. Your ad accounts see visits, checkouts and registrations, and nobody has to touch any code.

### What you get

- **Eight ad tools.** Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, TikTok, X, Pinterest, Snapchat and Microsoft Ads.

- **Paste the whole code.** Run This finds the ID in it.

- **Help in plain English.** Paste the wrong thing and it tells you what it is.

- **Registrations, with the amount paid.** So your ad tool knows what each ad brought in.

- **Counted once.** A reloaded receipt doesn't count twice.

- **Your runners stay private.** No names, emails, birthdays or genders, ever.

### See which ads bring in registrations

When someone registers for your race, your ad account hears about it, with the amount they paid. Meta, Google Ads and the rest can then show you which ad, which audience and which post brought them in.

Your tools also hear about everyone who looked at your race page or reached checkout. Build an audience from them, and show your ad again to the people who almost signed up.

Ad tracking lives under Marketing in your director dashboard.

### Paste the code. We'll find the ID.

Every ad tool hands you a block of code and tells you to put it on your website. You don't have to. Paste the whole block into Run This and it keeps just the ID.

Or paste only the ID. Either way, the panel tells you what it found, where to find the ID if you don't have it yet, and exactly what Run This will send.

Paste the whole Meta pixel code. Run This keeps just the ID.

### One paste fills in Google Ads

Google Ads needs two things to count a registration: a conversion ID and a conversion label. Copy the send_to value from your event snippet (it looks like AW-123456789/AbC-D_efG), paste it once, and both boxes fill in.

X works the same way with your purchase event ID. Leave the label out and Google Ads can still build audiences from your race's visitors, but it won't count registrations. The panel tells you so.

Paste Google's send_to value and both boxes fill in.

### It tells you when something's wrong

Ad dashboards are full of IDs that look alike. Paste an old Google code that starts with UA-, a Tag Manager ID or an access token, and Run This says what it is and where to find the right one.

That last one matters. An access token is a password for your ad account, so Run This tells you not to share it with anyone. It only ever needs the ID.

An old UA- code? Run This says what to use instead.

### What your ad tools hear

Every tool gets a page view on each of your race's pages: the race page, registration, the receipt, donations, results, photos and the wall. On top of that, Run This tells them when someone:

- **Looks at your race.** Meta, Google Analytics, TikTok, Pinterest and Snapchat.

- **Reaches checkout.** Meta, Google Analytics, TikTok, Snapchat and Microsoft Ads.

- **Registers.** All eight, with the amount paid. Free entries count too. (Google Ads needs its conversion label, and X its purchase event ID.)

- **Donates.** Meta and Google Analytics only, so donations never muddy your registration numbers anywhere else.

Each registration carries its confirmation number. If a runner reloads their receipt, your ad tool counts it once.

### Your runners' details stay out of it

Your tools run in a separate, empty frame on your race's pages, away from the registration form. Run This never sends them a runner's name, email, birthday or gender.

They run on your race's pages only, never on another race's, and Run This's own tracking stays separate from yours. Draft races don't load them, and neither do visitors whose browser asks sites not to share their data for advertising (a setting called Global Privacy Control).

### Your race website and Run This, one visit

Does your race have its own website on the same Google Analytics? Add runthis.run to its cross-domain list: in Google Analytics, open Admin, then Data streams, pick your stream, then Configure tag settings, then Configure your domains.

Now a runner who finds you on your website and registers on Run This counts as one visit, with its original source. You see the ad or post that really started it.

### Why your ad tool shows a smaller number

Expect your ad tool to count fewer registrations than Run This does. Ad blockers, iPhone privacy settings and browsers set to stop ad tracking keep some visits from reaching it.

Your Registrations page and Charts and insights always have the full count, including where people came from.

### Set it up in five minutes

- Open your race's director dashboard and click **Ad tracking** under Marketing in the left sidebar.

- Click the tool you advertise with. Add as many as you use.

- Paste the ID, or the whole code your ad tool gave you.

- Click **Save changes**. Your race's pages pick it up within a few minutes.

- Open your race page in a private window, then check your ad tool for the visit.

Why a private window? While you're signed in as the director, your tools get the page view but not the "viewed the race" event, so your own visits stay out of your audiences.

### Before you run your next ad

- Your race is published. Tracking starts when it is.

- Every tool you advertise with has its ID saved.

- Google Ads has its conversion label, and X has its purchase event ID.

- You opened your race page in a private window and saw the visit arrive.
