# Saved Races: How Run This Turns Maybe Into Registered

> When a runner saves your race, Run This tells them when registration opens, before prices rise, and when spots run low. Here is what a save does for you.

Most runners don't register the first time they see your race.

They think about it. They text a friend. They forget.

On Run This, they tap **Save**. Then Run This follows up for you.

### What a save does for your race

- **They hear when registration opens.** Automatically.

- **They get a heads-up before your price goes up.** About 48 hours ahead.

- **They're told when you're almost full.** While there are still spots to take.

- **They get a reminder four weeks out.** If they still haven't signed up.

- **Your announcements reach them.** Not just your registrants.

- **Their friends see it.** Every save shows up in their followers' feeds.

- **You see the interest.** A Bookmarks count and a chart on your dashboard.

- **It carries over when you renew.** Year after year.

### A save is a runner saying "maybe"

Every race page on Run This has a **Save** button, on the website and in the Run This app. One tap puts your race on that runner's saved list and on their calendar.

It costs them nothing, so people do it. And now you know something: this person is thinking about your race.

One tap, on the website or in the app.

### Registration opens. Savers hear first.

The day your registration opens, everyone who saved your race gets a notification, a push and an email that says so. Anyone already registered is skipped.

It goes out once a year, when your first distance opens, and it's on by default. Rather announce it yourself? Switch off **Announce when registration opens**.

Both switches are on by default.

### Price going up Friday? They'll know by Wednesday.

About 48 hours before a price increase, the people who saved your race get a heads-up to register before it changes. Have three price steps? They hear before each one.

The switch is **Alert savers before a price increase**. It's on by default too.

### Almost full? One more nudge.

If your race has a cap, savers who haven't registered get an alert when 25 or fewer spots are left. It goes out once a year, and never after you're full.

What a runner who saved your race sees.

### Four weeks out, one last reminder

Four weeks before race day, Run This emails everyone who saved your race and still hasn't signed up. You don't set anything up.

### Your announcements reach savers too

Post a **Director announcement** and it lands in the Race updates inbox of everyone registered for your race and everyone who saved it.

The course reveal. The shirt design. A new sponsor. Each one is a reason for a maybe to become a yes.

### Have news? Email them.

In **Emails**, open **Send settings** and tick **Bookmarked / interested** under Send to. It works for Promotion emails: register-now pushes, discounts, newsletters.

Every one carries an unsubscribe link and skips anyone who opted out of marketing email.

Send a Promotion email to the people who saved your race.

### Every save is word of mouth

When a runner saves your race, their followers see it in their feed. If they run with a club, the club's page counts it too.

That puts your race in front of the people most likely to run it: the friends of someone who's already interested. Saves also count toward the **Popular** sort in race search.

One save, seen by every follower.

### Watch interest build

Open **Charts and insights** in your dashboard. The **Bookmarks** tile shows how many people saved your race, and the **Insights by Date** chart draws saves next to your registrations. It's in the Run This app too.

You see how many people saved your race, not who. You reach them through Run This: the alerts above, your announcements and your emails.

Registrations and saves on one chart.

### Saves carry over when you renew

Renew your race and everyone who saved it comes with you. When next year's registration opens, they hear about it.

Your renewal reminders even tell you how many people saved your race.

### Set it up in five minutes

- Open your race's dashboard and click **Edit event**.

- In the **Sub-events** card, click **Sub-event global options**. Check that **Announce when registration opens** and **Alert savers before a price increase** are on.

- Set your registration open date and your price increases, so the alerts have something to say.

- Open **Charts and insights** to see your Bookmarks count.

- Open **Emails** when you have news for the people who saved.

### Four ways to get more saves

- Publish your race page early. Runners can save it before registration opens.

- When someone says "maybe next year," tell them to save it on Run This.

- Share your race link the day you announce your date.

- Renew your race instead of starting a new one, so your savers come with you.
