We are a passionate and committed team determined to make a difference in the fight against child human trafficking. Our mission is to raise support and awareness by taking on an extraordinary challenge: running 3 miles every 3 hours for a total of 36 hours. We believe that together, we can help protect vulnerable children and create a brighter, safer future for them. **Team Captain: Devin Wagener** - *Bio*: Devin is a relentless advocate for fatherhood and protection of children as a father himself. Last year we raised over $4k for children survivors of sexual violence in Bolivia for his 35th birthday and wants to make his miles matter again this year. **Co-Captain: Skarleth Wagener** - *Bio*: Skarleth has raised awareness for the global community and has the most compassionate heart and a fighting spirit. We are more than a team; we are a family united by a common cause. Together, we aim to raise both funds and awareness for this critical issue. Your support will not only keep us going during those challenging 36 hours but will also fuel our determination to eradicate child human trafficking. Join the movement in 2023 to end sex trafficking in our lifetime. #### **THE CAUSE** Modern slavery, including the trafficking of men, women, and children, is the human rights issue of our time. As many as 4 million women and children are caught in slavery in our world today. A young girl can be sold for as little as $150 and will often be forced to service at least 10 customers per day, or over 3,000 a year. Funds raised from 30 for Freedom will further the anti-trafficking work of [Venture](http://venture.org/), F.R.E.E.[ International](http://www.freeinternational.org/), [Lighthouse Foundation Nepal](https://www.lhfn.org.np/), and [Project Rescue.](http://projectrescue.com/) #### **THE STORY** It all started with Brent Silkey's vision to get 30 friends to run 30 miles and raise $30,000 on his 30th birthday to rescue victims of sex trafficking. Over the last seven years, Brent's vision has inspired thousands to raise over $1.56 million! In 2023 we want to engage thousands of participants through a 5k, 10k, half marathon, 30 mile, or 60 mile ultra run to raise $500,000 for sex trafficking prevention, rescue operations, and holistic survivor care.
