## Description

The inspiration for the first annual Mind over Miles 5K Run and 1.5M Walk came from our Board member, Bret Buike (“Buckeye Bret”) who donated to Recovery Resources, all the proceeds of his third annual Goggins Challenge.

The Goggins 4x4x48 challenge is a simple concept that was pioneered by ultramarathon runner David Goggins. Depending on your level of ability, you either walk or run 4 miles every four hours for 48 hours which totals 48 miles. Bret had a vision to make the weekend one focused on recovery, mental health, and veterans’ suicide prevention and to raise not only money but awareness of these important issues. And we were proud to have him complete his challenge at the Mind over Miles event.
