## Description

This year, we’re honored to be hosting the 2nd Annual Cathy Nielsen Walk & Talk.  Cathy, the beloved sister of our founder, was a fierce supporter of Wings of Hope and our mission. Though she passed away after her own battle with cancer, her spirit of walking, connection, and community lives on through this event.

All of the proceeds from this event go right back into our organization allowing us to continue to provide free support to cancer patients and their families right here in our community.

Choose from 1-mile or 3-mile routes. It's the perfect way to spend a morning with family and friends while helping those on the cancer journey in our communities. Pets welcome! Registration is from 9:00 to 9:30am, followed by the walks.

Our 2026 theme, Butterflies, represents transformation, resilience, hope, and new beginnings—beautiful reminders that healing often takes many forms and that even through life's greatest challenges, growth is possible.

Throughout the morning, you'll enjoy:

A scenic walk across the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge
Fresh breakfast pastries and treats available for purchase from Breeze Bakery
Specialty coffee from a local coffee truck
Face painting for children
Sidewalk chalk activities
Music from a live DJ
Family-friendly games and activities

Opportunities to connect with Wings of Hope and learn about the free programs available to local cancer patients and their families

Whether you're walking in memory of someone you love, celebrating survivorship, supporting a friend, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend your morning, we'd love to have you with us.

Together, we'll take one step at a time—surrounded by hope, community, and countless butterflies reminding us that brighter days are always possible.

Age 6-12: $20
