The top 15 individuals will get individual awards and the top 2 teams will receive plaques. The Top 4 Teams and the Top 15 individuals in these two races will qualify for the 2A Colorado Cross Country State Championships in Colorado Springs. Teams can run up to 8 runners with the top 4 comprising the team score.  Cost: $150 per school or $15 per runner Course Preview: Our home meet, the Chicken Creek Challenge, on October 10th will be a preview of this course. We have made course adjustments to our normal course. This course is in the San Juan National Forest and is open to course run-throughs at any time. The first 400 meters of the course is on a dirt road with the rest on old logging and forest roads.   Accommodations: There is one motel, the Mesa Verde Motel, in Mancos. However, there are plenty of hotels in Cortez (30 minutes from the course) and Durango (40 minutes from the course). There are plenty of restaurant options in Mancos, Cortez and Durango. Directions: Chicken Creek Area Written Directions: To get to the course from Mancos: Turn North onto Highway 184 toward Dolores. Two and a half miles up Highway 184, turn right onto County Road 40 (Millwood Road). DO NOT TURN ONTO CHICKEN CREEK ROAD (CR 41) AS THIS WILL TAKE YOU TO THE BACK OF THE COURSE. Follow CR 40 until you see the San Juan National Forest sign (about two and a half miles). The parking will be on along the road outside of the course.
