This special event honors the historic firehouse, celebrates Uwharrie Brewing Firehouse Red, supports the Albemarle Fire Department, and kicks off Fire Prevention Week (October 4–10, 2026).  Fire Prevention Week 2026 theme, “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” focuses on lithium-ion battery charging safety. Whether you’re racing for a personal best, walking with friends, pushing a stroller, or cheering from the sidelines — this event is truly a race for every pace. It is suggested to not wear turnout boots.  The winner of this challenge will receive $200.00. 2nd Place will receive $100.00.  It will be Chip Timed.  Pricing for this event is discounted for our Firefighters.
