Decked Out 5K Run/Walk is designed to support both heart health and local students. All proceeds go toward the A.C.E. Scholarship, which helps Iredell-Statesville Schools (ISS) seniors who have overcome serious challenges, such as physical difficulties, language barriers, child abuse, delinquency, or substance abuse. These students are known as A.C.E.'s—Accepting the Challenge of Excellence. By joining the run/walk, you help encourage these seniors as they graduate in 2027 and continue to strive for excellence in their lives because anything less may send them back into their serious challenges. Runners and walkers are encouraged to add to the fun by dressing as their favorite character! Costumes may be playing-card themed or completely unrelated—just be creative and have fun. A prize will be awarded for the best costume, so come ready to run, walk, and show off your unique style! All participants who register by February 8, 2027, will receive a swag bag, T-shirt, and participation medal. Teams are welcome. Same-day registration will be available. Awards will be given for the overall top three male and female runners, as well as medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each age category for both males and females.
