## Description

The inaugural Ellington 4-Mile Run & Walk is more than just a race. It's an invitation to engage with the city’s history and innovation while fostering a vibrant, healthy community.

The event will celebrate Asheville’s historic buildings designed by architect Douglas Ellington in the 1920s. Ellington is widely known as the architect who changed Asheville into an Art Deco showplace.

This unique 4 mile course in the downtown area passes four of  Ellington’s most iconic local designs: First Baptist Church, Asheville City Hall, Asheville High School, and the S&W Cafeteria Building. Runners will begin and end in the front parking lot of the First Baptist Church, Ellington's first commission.
