## Description

1st Annual Fire Breathing Dragon Homecoming Fun Run

Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 5:00 PM

Register today for the first annual Fire Breathing Dragon Homecoming Fun Run hosted by the Johnston Girl’s XCTF Booster Club prior to the start of the Johnston Homecoming Parade and along the parade route on Pioneer Parkway.

Fire Breathing Dragon Fun Run Details:

Course: Start at Pioneer Parkway and North Drive (Corteva Entrance) with turnaround at Pioneer Parkway and Greendale Road for a 2-Mile route. Runners go out on the east side of Pioneer Parkway and back on the west side of Pioneer Parkway.
Schedule: We will begin with the 800 Meter Run, followed by the 1-Mile Run, 2-Mile Community Run, HS XC Boys, and finishing with the HS XC Girls. Roll Dragz!
Parking/Packet Pick-Up/Restrooms: Packet pick up will begin at 4:00 in the parking lot located east of Johnston Middle School. Restrooms will be available at the Johnston Middle School track. 
Registration: Registration is $15 for the 800 Meter Run and 1 Mile Run, and $20 for the 2 Mile Run. Families may register for a reduced fee of $40. 

Ways you can participate in the Fire Breathing Dragon Fun Run:

Register: You can race, job, walk, or stroll. All abilities welcome!
Donate: Whether or not you are running, please consider making a donation.
Tell Your Friends: Spread the word about the event and plan on meeting friends and family at the Fire Breathing Dragon Fun Run before the parade begins. And secure your parade spot early!
