Peninsula Families! Your Next Adventure Awaits!

Grab your pirate hat, polish your crown, and join the Autism Society of Tidewater Virginia (ASTV) for the Pirates & Princesses of the Peninsula 2-Mile Walk & Run and Autism Resource Fair!

This family-friendly community event brings together individuals, families, service providers, public agencies, nonprofits, educational partners, healthcare professionals, and local businesses for a morning of adventure, inclusion, and connection.

Whether you walk, run, roll, or cheer from the sidelines, you are part of a community working to ensure that autistic individuals and their families have access to meaningful resources, supportive relationships, and opportunities to thrive.

Discover Resources. Make Connections.
Finding the right services and support can be challenging for families navigating autism and related disabilities. Our Autism Resource Fair is designed to make those connections easier.

Meet local service providers and community organizations, explore programs and services, ask questions, and discover resources available throughout the Peninsula. Just as importantly, the event creates opportunities for families and organizations to share experiences, identify unmet needs, and strengthen the network of support available in our community.

Bring the whole family and enjoy a morning filled with:

2-Mile Walk & Run: Participate at your own pace in a welcoming community event.
Autism Resource Fair: Connect with local organizations and discover services and supports.
Pirate & Princess Fun: Costumes are encouraged as families join in the themed adventure.
Family Activities: Enjoy interactive experiences and opportunities for all ages.
Treasure Quest: Explore participating booths and discover the treasures our community has to offer.
Food Trucks & More: Enjoy food options and community fun throughout the morning.

Our goal is to create a welcoming experience where individuals of all abilities can participate in ways that work for them. Everyone is invited, and participation in activities is always a personal choice.

Who Should Attend?
Everyone is welcome! We invite families of autistic loved ones, people with related disabilities, families, caregivers, friends, educators, service providers, community organizations, and anyone who believes in building a more inclusive community.

Local businesses, nonprofits, public agencies, healthcare providers, and educational organizations are also encouraged to participate in the Resource Fair and help families discover the resources available to them.

You can support the event by registering for the walk, inviting family and friends, volunteering, sponsoring the event, or participating as a community resource partner.

Every connection matters. Together, we can help families find support, strengthen community partnerships, and build a Peninsula where everyone belongs.

Register today and join the adventure!
