## Description

The Cyber Center of Excellence presents the MSG Gary Gordon Challenge, a rigorous, competitive event designed to test the physical and tactical limits of participants from across the installation and community, and 5k run forging excellence and honoring the heroic legacy of MSG Gary Gordon through intense competition.  Additionally, there will be a 5K for those not wishing to participate in the Task Stations.

TASKS, CONDITIONS, STANDARDS

Conduct 5k Run while completing the following stations along run route, for fastest time.

Burpee:  40 reps total as team
¼ Mile Sprint: 1 complete lap around track
Sandbag Load: load 24 bags on and off flat bed as team
Body Squat:  100 reps total as team
Deadlift:  (male- 200lbs x 6) (female – 140lbs x 6)
Burpee:  40 reps total as team
Rope Climb: 20ft climb (each competitor)
Water Can Carry: 50m (two cans each competitor
Pull Up:  12 reps as team
Sled Drag: 90lbs sled x 160m (as team)
Push Up: 50 reps total as team
Kettle Bell to Litter Carry: KB to Litter Carry 4 Sandbags to End point
*Penalty Exercise for not attempting a lane:
100x Mountain Climbers (Even number lanes)
25x 8 Count Push Up (Odd number Lanes)
 

Uniform

Competitors- sterile ACUs and boots
IOTV/MSV (Plate Carrier 25lb min)
Gloves
Camelback
NO HEADGEAR
5K runners- appropriate running clothes and shoes
 

Execution

2 x person teams
Staggard start 5 waves of 9 teams
Common start 5k runners
Overall time kept at admin tent
Each station grader keeps track of completions/deductions
Graders can call in deductions in between competitors at their station

 

All non-DoD pass holders must register at least 24 hours in advance at: https://home.army.mil/gordon/des/visitor-information/visitor-preregistration for a visitor pass.  Choose Army>Ft Gordon>Visitor Pass and be sure to select for base access to start on packet pick up day!
