Lace up and Ponte las Pilas! Join us for a fun, family-friendly 5K and Fun Run/Walk celebrating community, wellness, and the power of coming together to support the next generation.

“Ponte las pilas” is a phrase deeply woven into everyday Spanish-speaking culture. Literally translating to “put your batteries in,” it’s a playful way of telling someone to wake up, get energized, and get moving. It’s the kind of encouragement many of us grew up hearing from a parent, grandparent, teacher, or friend—a reminder that when an opportunity comes your way, you have to be ready to take it.

That spirit is at the heart of Firme DFW’s mission: helping first-generation students put their “batteries in” by providing the scholarships, mentorship, and support they need to pursue their goals, build a better future, and make an impact in their communities. Every step in the Ponte las Pilas 5K helps us move that mission forward.
