## Description

The Diagnosed Not Defeated Virtual 5K is a global community-centered walk, jog, or run held in recognition of World Diabetes Day.

Participants can complete their 5K wherever they choose—including a neighborhood, park, track, gym, or treadmill—on November 14 or a date close to it that fits their schedule.

Each participant will receive a race bib and commemorative medal. The event is designed to promote movement, diabetes awareness, encouragement, and the message that a diagnosis does not define what is possible.

The race is open to anyone managing diabetes, anyone who loves someone managing diabetes, or anyone who wants to support the diabetes community and the work Black Diabetic Info does for the community.

How Does A Virtual 5k Work?

Register for the Diagnosed Not Defeated Virtual 5K.
Order by November 1 to help ensure your race bib arrives in time for World Diabetes Day.
Your registration includes a race bib and race medal.
Complete your 5K on World Diabetes Day, November 14, or on a day as close to November 14 as your schedule allows.
You may walk, jog, run, or use a combination of all three.
Complete your 5K wherever it works best for you — in your neighborhood, at a park, on a track, at a gym, or even on a treadmill.
Wear your race bib while completing your 5K.
You may record your finishing time for your own records, but you do not need to submit proof of your time or distance.
Take a photo of yourself before, during, or after your 5K so we can celebrate with you.
Share your photos online using #DiagnosedNotDefeated5K or #DiagnosedNotDefeated.
You may also email your photos to diagnosednotdefeated@gmail.com.
Choose a safe route and participate at a pace that is comfortable and appropriate for you.
Most importantly, have fun, celebrate World Diabetes Day, and remember that we are Stronger Together.
