Please only register if you are an employee or related to an employee- thank you!  Get Out and Play 5K Join us for the first annual Get Out and Play 5K for James City County employees and their families! This free event welcomes runners and walkers of all paces. Advance registration is required. Date: Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026 Check-in begins: 8 a.m. Race starts: 9 a.m. Event time: 9–11 a.m. Location: Jamestown High School, 3751 John Tyler Hwy., Williamsburg, VA 23185 The 3.1-mile course follows the Greensprings Interpretive Trail, starting and finishing at Jamestown High School. It’s a mostly flat, unpaved path with a firm, gravel-like surface, a few bridges and scenic views. Parking at Jamestown High School and portable toilets will be available. The course will be open until 10:15 a.m., allowing approximately 24 minutes per mile to finish. The event includes pre-race stretching, a marked course, a water stop, official timing, finisher medals and post-race refreshments. Stay afterward for raffle prizes and fun! Whether you run or walk, choose a pace that gives you a healthy challenge. The goal is to get moving, enjoy the trail and feel good about finishing! Strollers and leashed pets are welcome. The trail will remain open to the public during the event, so please be courteous to other trail users. The JCC Working Towards Wellness program and Happy Cat Fitness coordinate this event to support employee health and well-being.
