Start your Thanksgiving morning with community and a good cause. All runners and walkers are welcome! FAQs What if I can't afford the registration fee or don't want to register online? Everyone is welcome at the Vamos Pavo 5K. If cost, online registration, or payment by credit card would make it difficult for you or your family to participate, you can register in person on the day of the event at no cost. No explanation is necessary, and you do not need a credit/debit card.  Do I have to run? Not at all! Walkers are welcome, and you do not have to complete the entire 5K. Will the race be timed? Yes, we will have volunteers keeping time, but this will not be a chip-timed race. Will there be T-shirts? Not this year—but we hope to add them in the future! Can kids participate? Absolutely! Kids are welcome to participate with their families. Can I bring my pet? Because space on the track is limited, pets cannot participate in the 5K. They are welcome to cheer you on from the sidelines, though! Where does my registration fee go? Proceeds from the Vamos Pavo 5K will benefit Bluegrass Community Action of Anderson County (https://www.bluegrasscommunityaction.org/)  What happens if the weather is bad? The event will take place rain or shine unless conditions make it unsafe to proceed. Any weather-related updates will be shared with registered participants. Can I participate with a stroller? Strollers are welcome, but we ask participants with strollers to be mindful of others and start toward the back of the group. Do I need to be an experienced runner? Definitely not! Whether this is your first 5K or your fiftieth, you are welcome. Is there a restroom available? Yes. Restrooms are available at Anderson Community Park. We will not be bringing in additional portable restrooms. Will there be water available? Yes, but we encourage all participants to bring their own water bottles. What time should I arrive? We encourage participants to arrive by 8:30 AM. Are registration contributions refundable? Because all proceeds benefit Bluegrass Community Action of Anderson County, registration contributions are nonrefundable. Can I register on race morning? Yes, but registering ahead of time really helps us to plan!
