Run This Boost Advertising Terms
Version 2026-09-v3 · effective 2026-09-11
These are the terms every race director agrees to when they buy a Boost, the Run This service that builds and runs a Facebook and Instagram ad for an event. Read the section on results before you buy: Run This does not promise that anyone will register, or that you will earn back what you spend.
Overview and Scope
Run This, LLC ("Run This") operates a Software-as-a-Service platform (the "Service") for endurance-event registration. Boost is a paid advertising service inside the Service: when an event organizer ("you") buys a Boost, Run This creates a Facebook and Instagram advertisement for your event, places it through Run This's own Meta advertising account, and manages it for the run period shown at purchase. These Boost Advertising Terms (the "Terms") govern every Boost you buy.
These Terms supplement the Run This Terms of Service and the Run This Event Contract (Organizer Agreement). Where they conflict about the Boost service, these Terms control. By buying a Boost you agree to these Terms as they read at the moment of purchase.
Contracting Parties
This Agreement is entered into by you (the organizer buying the Boost) and Run This, LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company. References to "Run This," "we," or "us" refer to Run This, LLC. Meta Platforms, Inc. ("Meta") is not a party to these Terms; the advertisement runs on Meta's platforms under Meta's own advertising policies.
What Run This Does
Run This builds the advertisement from your event's own public page and from the photo and wording you choose or approve in the Boost dialog: the event name, date, location and price, the photo, the headline, the text above the image, and a button that links to your event page on Run This.
Run This chooses the audience, the placements, the schedule, the bidding and the optimization settings at its sole discretion, and may adjust any of them during the run to comply with Meta's policies, to protect Run This's advertising account, or to improve delivery. The ad runs from the Run This Facebook Page and Instagram account, not from yours. You do not receive access to Run This's Meta advertising account, and Run This does not manage advertising inside any account of yours.
Run This decides when the ad starts and ends within the run window shown to you at purchase. Meta reviews every advertisement before it runs, and that review can take hours or days. Run This does not control Meta's review timing.
Price, Media Budget and Management Fee
You choose the price of a Boost, within the range shown, before you pay. A stated portion of that price is the media budget, which Run This spends with Meta to run your ad. The remainder is Run This's management fee for building, placing, managing and reporting on the ad. Both amounts are shown to you in dollars before you buy.
You pay the full price by card at purchase. The management fee is earned when Run This builds the ad and submits it to Meta. The media budget is spent with Meta as the ad delivers, up to the amount you bought. Prices may change for future Boosts at any time; the price you paid governs the Boost you bought. Applicable sales tax, if any, is added at checkout.
No Guarantee of Results
This is the most important section of these Terms. Run This does not promise, guarantee, estimate or forecast any result from a Boost. In particular, Run This does not promise any number of people reached, impressions, clicks, visits to your event page, registrations, revenue, donations or volunteers, and does not promise that you will earn back any part of what you spend, whether on media, on the management fee or on both.
Advertising results depend on Meta's delivery systems, on the size and behavior of the audience, on timing, on your event's own page, price and reputation, on what other advertisers are doing, and on many other factors outside Run This's control. A result achieved by one Boost, for your event or for any other event, is not a prediction of the result of another.
The figures shown on your Advertise page (such as spend, people reached, clicks and registrations attributed to the ad) are reported by Meta, are estimates produced by Meta's measurement and attribution methods, may lag, and may be revised by Meta after the fact. They are provided for your information and are not a promise, an audit or an accounting.
You buy a Boost on your own business judgment. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Run This's total liability arising out of or relating to a Boost, under any theory, is limited to the amount you paid for that Boost.
Meta Review, Declined Ads and Refunds
If Meta declines your advertisement and Run This cannot get it approved with reasonable edits, Run This refunds the full price of that Boost to the original payment method, less the card processing fee. The card processor keeps its fee when a charge is refunded, so that fee is not returned, exactly as with a registration refund on Run This.
Once the advertisement begins delivering, the management fee is not refundable. The media budget works differently. Meta bills Run This as the advertisement delivers, so media budget that Meta has not spent when a Boost is paused or ended early was never spent at all, and Run This refunds it to the original payment method. This applies however the Boost ended: whether Run This paused it, whether your event stopped taking registrations, or whether Run This withdrew Boost.
Run This does not refund media budget that Meta has already spent. Once an advertisement has delivered, that money is gone whatever the result, and Run This makes no promise about results. See No Guarantee of Results above.
Run This may pause or end a Boost at any time when your event stops taking registrations: when registration closes, when the event fills up, when you cancel or postpone the event, or when the event listing is moderated or removed. Run This may also pause or end a Boost to comply with Meta's policies or to protect its advertising account. Run This may, at its discretion, extend a Boost's run window at no charge when it thinks that serves your event; it is not obliged to.
Card processing fees are not refundable, including when a Boost never runs, because the card processor keeps them whether or not a charge is later refunded. When a Boost never runs because of an error on Run This's side, Run This may, at its discretion, refund the card processing fee as well. Refunds are issued to the card used at purchase and can take several business days to appear on your statement.
Disputing a Boost charge with your card issuer after the advertisement has begun delivering is a breach of these Terms. If you believe a refund is owed, contact Run This first. Run This may suspend Boost, and any other paid Run This service, for an organizer who disputes a charge, and may recover the disputed amount and any dispute fees from money otherwise payable to that organizer's events.
Your Content and Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for the photo, the event name, the headline and the text you choose or approve for the ad. You warrant that you own, or hold every right needed to use, the photo and any name, logo or likeness in it; that the ad is truthful and not misleading; that the price, date and location in the ad match your event; and that nothing in the ad violates Meta's Advertising Standards, any law, or any third party's rights.
Because the ad links to your event page, you are responsible for keeping that page accurate for the run of the ad. An ad that promotes a price, date or distance that no longer matches the page will be paused.
Run This may make minor edits to your content so the ad complies with Meta's requirements, for example cropping a photo to a placement's shape, shortening text to Meta's character limits, or removing punctuation Meta rejects. Run This may decline to build or run any advertisement for any reason, and refunds the Boost in full, less the card processing fee, when it declines before the ad has begun delivering.
You grant Run This a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, crop, resize and display your content for the purpose of building and running the advertisement and reporting on it to you, for the run of the Boost and as long as Run This keeps a record of the Boost.
Reporting
Run This refreshes Boost figures from Meta periodically while a Boost is running and for a short time after it ends. The figures are Meta's, not Run This's, and Run This has no obligation to reconcile them with your own analytics, with registration counts on Run This, or with any other source. Run This may change what it reports and how often at any time.
Suspension, Withdrawal and Changes to These Terms
Run This may suspend or stop offering Boost, for one event or for everyone, at any time. If Run This withdraws a Boost you bought before its advertisement has begun delivering, Run This refunds that Boost in full, less the card processing fee. If Run This withdraws one after delivery has begun, Run This refunds the media budget Meta had not yet spent.
Run This may change these Terms by publishing a new version. The version you accepted at purchase governs that Boost; a new version governs Boosts bought after it is published.
Relationship to Other Agreements
The Run This Terms of Service, the Run This Privacy Policy and the Run This Event Contract (Organizer Agreement) continue to apply to your use of the Service. The Privacy Policy describes the advertising measurement that runs on Run This pages, including the Meta pixel that Boost audiences are built from. Nothing in these Terms changes what data Run This collects or how it uses it.
