A New Chapter in Our Longstanding Thanksgiving Tradition
In 2026, the Will Run for Pie 5K is joining forces with the Newburyport Maudslay Turkey Trot for one Thanksgiving morning race at Maudslay State Park.
Winners Circle Running Club is partnering with Joppa Flats Running Club to support this year’s event, which will remain under JFRC’s leadership for 2026. Beginning in 2027, WCRC will become the steward of the Maudslay Turkey Trot, helping preserve one of the North Shore’s longest-running Thanksgiving traditions for future generations.
There will not be a separate Will Run for Pie race in Salisbury this year. We invite all of our runners, walkers, volunteers, and families to join us at Maudslay!
2026 Newburyport Maudslay Turkey Trot 5K Date: Thanksgiving Day — Thursday, November 26, 2026 Start Time: 8:20 AM Location: Maudslay State Park, Curzon Mill Road, Newburyport, MA Distance: 5K cross-country run/walk
The Maudslay Turkey Trot is an affordable, family-friendly event welcoming runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. One hundred percent of net proceeds are donated to local charitable organizations, including Our Neighbors’ Table, The Pettengill House, and area food pantries.
Registration Fees Adults ages 18 and older: $32 Students age 18 and younger: $27 Bresnahan School Running Club students, Pre-K through Grade 3: $20
The first 900 registered participants will receive a race shirt. Online registration closes Wednesday, November 25 at 10:00 AM.

Join Us at Maudslay Although the location is changing, the values behind our Thanksgiving race are not. The event will remain welcoming, affordable, family-friendly, and committed to giving back to our local community.
