We invite you and your family to a meaningful Veterans Day event along the beautiful shoreline of Saint Simons Island, honoring those who’ve served and confronting a crisis we cannot ignore.
Every single day, 22 veterans die by suicide. These are not just numbers; they are parents, children, siblings, and friends. Brave men and women who survived combat zones but never found peace at home. Many return from service carrying both visible and invisible wounds: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), loss of limbs, and the heavy weight of isolation.
Returning to civilian life is not always easy, and too many veterans face this transition without the resources or community they desperately need. That’s why we run.
Fairways for Freedom®, in partnership with SSI VFW Post 4092, is working to change that. Proceeds from this event will directly fund local programs that help combat-injured veterans reconnect, recover, and rebuild their lives using innovative, holistic approaches through several ways, including the healing power of golf.
This event is more than a run. It’s a commitment to raise awareness, fight stigma, and save lives.

All entries include a T-shirt and a finisher medal.
Register by September 7th to secure early bird pricing:
5K Race: $30 1 Mile Walk: $30 Children Under 12: $20
Starting September 8th, prices increase to:
5K Race: $35 up 1 Mile Walk: $35 Children Under 12: $25

👟 This event will not be chipped. There will not be awards for age groups. There will be prizes drawn at the end of the run (must be present to win).

RACE DAY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
7:00 am Race Day - Registration Opens Electronic Reg only (no cash)/ Bib Pick Up. You will be required to show proof of registration via your phone. 7:45 am Race Day - Registration Closes. Head to the Starting line 8:00 am Event Start Time 9:15 am Prizes will be drawn at the end of event. No age group awards.
PRE-REGISTRATION BIB PICK UP:
Monday, November 3, through Friday, November 7, Game Changers Running Company, 262 Redfern Village, SSI, GA, during business hours. We highly recommend having proof of registration to pick up your bib. Day of Run - 7:00 am - 7:45 am, Run location - via QR code at registration table. You will be required to show proof of registration via your phone.
