St. Charles Girls Volleyball is returning for the 2026 school year for girls in 5th through 8th grades!
Due to the increase in numbers from last season, we are excited to offer girls volleyball for 5th–8th grade, with plans to have two teams.
Fall League Details (September 1st to Approx 1st week of November) Info for those interested in joining the St. Charles Borromeo’s Girls Fall Volleyball Program!
Girls interested in participating in the program are required to attend a skills assessment/tryout and will be placed into either a Varsity level (competitive) or a Junior Varsity (JV) level (developing). Being a member of the volleyball program requires dedication and responsibility. Players selected for a team are expected to: attend all scheduled practices, arrive on time and be ready to participate, attend weekday home/away matches, and demonstrate good sportsmanship, respect, and a positive attitude at all times. Varsity Team: This team is our most competitive team and is intended for athletes who demonstrate an understanding of the game, have consistent volleyball skills, has the ability to compete at a high level, and are coachable. The Varsity Team will compete against other schools and in tournaments throughout the season with travel to away games on weeknights. Other teams include St. Joan of Arc (Marlton), St. Mary's (Williamstown), St. Michael (Clayton), Resurrection Catholic School (Cherry Hill), Our Lady of Hope (Blackwood), St. Teresa, (Runnemede), Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Berlin), St. Margaret (Woodbury), Our Lady of Good Counsel (Moorestown), John Paul II (Stratford). Junior Varsity (JV) Team: This team is designed for athletes who are continuing to develop their volleyball skills. The JV Team provides a competitive environment where players can gain valuable game experience, including skill development and fundamentals, learning game strategies and volleyball rules, building confidence and teamwork, and preparing athletes for future Varsity opportunities. The JV team will have practice and scrimmage opportunities TBD. This option may be best for those with conflicts with other sports or who cannot commit fully for other reasons. *PLEASE NOTE THAT WE NEED ANOTHER COACH IN ORDER TO PROCEED WITH A JV TEAM. IF WE CANNOT SECURE ANOTHER COACH, WE WILL ONLY HAVE A VARSITY TEAM THIS YEAR. If you have volleyball experience or simply enjoy working with kids and are willing to help, we would love to hear from you! Coaching is a great way to make a positive impact while helping young players learn the fundamentals of the game in a fun and encouraging environment. Coaches must attend a Virtus training class and get fingerprinted. If you're interested or would like more information, please contact Angie Wojnar at awojnar@comcast.net.
Team Placement: The coaching staff will conduct a tryout (dates TBD in August) to evaluate each athlete based on skill level, effort, attitude, teamwork, and potential for growth. To communicate clearly about expectations for the Varsity team, St. Charles is entering a competitive program, and while development is our priority, it will operate differently than recreational programs.
PRACTICES: tentatively Mondays and/or Thursdays @ Holy Cross Prep Academy starting August (exact time is TBD).
