3rd Annual Runnin’ to the Rig 5K Run/Walk! Embrace the BHS Legacy and Join Us for the 3rd Annual Runnin’ to the Rig 5K Run/Walk!
Join us on Saturday, February 20, 2027, for a fun-filled morning celebrating Bakersfield High School's rich history, school spirit, and community!
Whether you're running, walking, or simply coming out to support BHS, this fundraising event is a great way to bring our Driller community together while raising funds for our school.
Our 5K course will take participants on a nostalgic route through our historic campus, finishing near the iconic football tunnel at Griffith Stadium. For those looking for a shorter distance, our 2K walk will wind through campus and even take participants through some of our historic buildings. The 2K walk will begin after the 5K run.
All finishers will receive a medal!
Be sure to stick around after the race for photos, selfies, and a chance to celebrate on historic Griffith Field!
Race Day Details Saturday, February 20, 2027
7:00–8:00 AM: Race Day Registration ($35 per person) 7:30 AM: Participant Check-In 8:30 AM: 5K Shotgun Start 2K Walk: Begins following the 5K start Location: Bakersfield High School – Morrow Field / Griffith Stadium Registration & Race T-Shirts Race day registration will be available at the check-in table on Morrow Field from 7:00–8:00 AM for $35 per person.
Commemorative race T-shirts will be available for an additional fee during online pre-registration.
Race Packet & T-Shirt Pickup Participants can pick up their race bibs and pre-purchased T-shirts at the stadium parking lot near Griffith Stadium.
Friday, February 19: 3:30–6:00 PM Saturday, February 20: 7:00–8:00 AM Come Be Part of the Tradition! Lace up your running shoes, bring your friends and family, and join us for a memorable morning celebrating the history and traditions that make Bakersfield High School so special.
