Join Us for the Wheeling Turkey Trot: 5K Run/Walk & Children's Fun Run!
Get ready to kick off your Thanksgiving celebrations with a spirited community event that supports the Wheeling Parks and Recreation mission: "to build healthy communities through people, parks, and programs.”

Date: Thursday, November 26th Location: Alma Grace McDonough Center, Wheeling University Campus
Schedule:
7:00 AM: Packet pickup and registration open at the McDonough Center 8:30 AM: Children’s Fun Run 8:30 AM: Packet pickup and registration close 8:45 AM: Begin to line up at the start 9:00 AM: 5K Run and Walk 10:00 AM: Awards
Exciting Extras:
Participants in the 5K will have a chance to win fantastic prizes in a random drawing.
Virtual Participation: Can’t join us in person? No problem! Sign up as a "Pardoned Turkey" to participate virtually and secure a stylish event T-shirt. Your T-shirt will be available for pickup at packet pick-up, on race day at the McDonough Center, or at the Parks and Recreation office starting December 1st.
Award Ceremony: Celebrate your achievements at our awards ceremony, held immediately after the race inside the McDonough Center.
Packet Pick-Up Information:
Early Packet Pick-Up (Recommended): Pick up your race packet at the Parks and Recreation Office located at 56 19th Street, Wheeling, WV 26003 on the following dates:
Tuesday, November 24th 12 PM – 7 PM Wednesday, November 25th 9 AM – 1 PM
Day of Race Registration: Registration and packet pick-up will also be available at the McDonough Center from 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM on race day.

Your 5K registration automatically enters you into our Grand Prize Drawing - no additional ticket is needed! Every registered participant will have a chance to win one of three exciting grand prizes.
But that’s not all! Each participant will also receive five complimentary raffle tickets to use toward drawings for a variety of additional prizes.
How It Works
Choose your chances: Use your five complimentary tickets however you’d like. Put all five toward one prize or spread them across multiple prizes for more chances to win! Want more chances? Purchase additional raffle tickets to increase your chances of winning while helping support the 5K. Submit your tickets: Turn in your raffle tickets during packet pickup or bring them with you on race morning. Check out the prizes: A complete list of raffle prizes will be posted as we get closer to race day.
