    About This Event

Book Your 2027 Fourth of July

Race, walk, jog, cheer, and celebrate before East Longmeadow’s July 4th Parade.

    July 4th Race Tradition

The Legendary Freedom Four Miler Road Race

Join us in East Longmeadow for the 3rd Annual Freedom Four Miler Road Race, now featuring the new Freedom Family 2-Miler.

Four Miler Road Race Family 2-Miler

This special July 4th event was created to bring our community together in celebration of freedom, fitness, patriotism, family, and the proud traditions that make East Longmeadow’s Independence Day so memorable.

Taking place immediately before the largest July 4th Parade in New England, this race gives runners, walkers, families, and spectators a one-of-a-kind opportunity to be part of the excitement before one of the area’s most beloved holiday parades kicks off.

Whether you are racing for prize money in the Freedom Four Miler, jogging with friends, walking with family, or showing off your most patriotic outfit, this event is built for every pace, from the fastest runners to families looking for a festive start to the Fourth.

Come ready for either challenge and bring your best red, white, and blue spirit.

    Race Day Details

    Important Timing Information

Because this event takes place immediately before the East Longmeadow July 4th Parade, the race must follow a strict schedule.

    60-Minute Course Cut-Off

There will be a 60-minute course cut-off time for the Freedom Four Miler. A course sweeper will follow the race to ensure all cones are cleared and that no runners remain on the route before the parade begins.

    Check-In Ends at 9:20 AM

Race check-in starts at 8:00am and will end precisely at 9:20AM. No exceptions. Because the race must begin on time and the parade schedule cannot be delayed, we are unable to hold the start for late arrivals. Please plan ahead, allow extra time for parking and traffic, and arrive early.

    Choose the Right Distance

Participants should choose the event distance that best fits their pace. Anyone who may need more time is encouraged to join the Freedom Family 2-Miler Walk/Jog.

    What to Wear

This is a Fourth of July race, so patriotic spirit is part of the fun. Participants are encouraged to wear the official race shirt, or anything red, white, and blue, decorate strollers or wagons for the family 2 miler, and celebrate the day with festive race-day style.

    Parking and Arrival

Please plan ahead, allow extra time for parking and traffic, and arrive early. The race schedule is connected to the parade schedule, so timing matters. The parade kicks off right after the race and roads around Maple street are shut down.

    Course Information

Please review the course map before race day and become familiar with the route. The course will take participants through East Longmeadow before the start of the July 4th Parade.

    Celebrate With Us

We can’t wait to celebrate freedom, fitness, family, community, and the Fourth of July with you at this year’s Freedom Four Miler Road Race and Freedom Family 2-Miler Walk/Jog.
