A Thanksgiving Morning Tradition in Beautiful Downtown Holland, Michigan
Start your Thanksgiving Day the right way with an unforgettable run through the heart of one of Michigan’s most charming cities! The Holland Turkey Trot 5K is welcoming runners, walkers, and families to a high-energy, community-centered race experience!
In our first-ever race in 2025, 1,245 runners joined us for an amazing Thanksgiving morning! We had an incredible time celebrating together, and we can’t wait to do it again in 2026!

🏃 The Course
Get ready for the same scenic, fun, and fast 5K course that runners experienced in 2025! The race starts and ends in bustling downtown Holland. Here’s your route:
Start on 8th Street between Central Ave & College Ave Turn right on Central Ave, then right onto E 7th St Take a left on Lincoln Ave and make your way toward one of Holland’s most iconic landmarks… Enter Windmill Island Gardens and run within 5 feet of the historic De Zwaan Windmill! Exit Windmill Island and return via Lincoln Ave Make a right onto E 8th St Sprint through three full blocks of beautiful downtown shops and cheering spectators Finish where you started, right in the heart of Holland!

This is more than just a race, it’s a full on festive celebration! Holland Mayor Nathan Bocks will be on the mic, joined by Race Director Kevin Maas, keeping the energy high and the crowd pumped as they announce runners, tell stories, and bring the party all morning long!

🚗 Parking & Porta Potties
Runners are strongly encouraged to carpool.
Please try to arrive early, and use designated public parking at city parking lots, such as at the Holland Civic Center. Note that 7th and 8th Street will be closed for the duration of this race.
Public Restrooms and Porta Potties will be available on Central Ave, between 8th and 9th, for your convenience.

Remember that it will be November in Michigan, so there may be snow on the course. We will still run!
In particular, the path on Windmill Island will not be plowed. Run at your own risk.
