    About This Event

Join us for the Footseps for Families 5K and Mile Walk, a community event dedicated to promoting family well-being and raising awareness for child abuse prevention. Hosted by GlobeMed at Rutgers in partnership with Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey, this event supports PCANJ’s mission to strengthen families and build safer, healthier communities across the state.

As participants move through each kilometer of the course, they’ll learn about the Five Protective Factors - Parental Resilience, Social Connections, Concrete Support in Times of Need, Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development, and Social and Emotional Competence of Children. Together these pillars support strong families and reduce the risk of abuse and neglect. Whether you're running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, you'll be part of an impactful movement for prevention, resilience, and hope.

Food and drink will be available to all participants following their respective events. After you finish your race stick around for music, games, and fun! Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers of the 5K race.

All proceeds from the race will benefit PCANJ and its statewide programs that provide education, resources, and support for children and families.

***The first 100 registrants to the 5K Run & Walk will receive a race t-shirt. T-shirts will also be available for purchase.
