Ducks Unlimited (DU) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1937, dedicated to the conservation of wetlands and associated upland habitats for waterfowl, other wildlife, and people. Ducks Unlimited aims to ensure that there are sufficient wetlands to support waterfowl populations today and in the future. Learn more.
What is a Liftoff competition, and how does it work? The Quack Attack Lift-off sponsored by CrossFit Athens will combine endurance and strength into a combined hybrid athlete event. Participants will start with the Quack Attack 5K/10K racers, and upon crossing the finish line the challenge is only beginning. Lift-off athletes will transition to compete in 2x strength challenges, Bench Press and Clean. Each athlete will have 3x attempts to establish their one-rep max in each lift and may increase or decrease the weight between attempts. The heaviest successful lifts will count towards the athlete's Strength score to be ranked 1st, 2nd, etc. and combined with their 5K race position Speed score. The athletes with the lowest combined score will be crowned the Quack Attack Lift-off Champion. If two or more athletes finish with the same overall score, ties will be broken by highest strength total across the two lifts.
