ABOUT THE RACE
Welcome to the Battle of the Run Clubs Team XC Challenge! And by run clubs, we mean Run Clubs, but we also mean run... "clubs".
Sign up with a group of friends, with family members, or even as an individual. You don't need a complete team to enter. If your friends don't quite get organized and your team ends up a little short, we'll combine mixed teams so everyone has a chance at a final score.
Individuals can enter as Free Agents and will be combined into mixed teams, or possibly a team of their own. It's a great way to meet local runners and make new friends. If you're entering as an individual, please choose the "Free Agent" team.

HOW SCORING WORKS
Each runner chooses the distance that suits them best, and each race is scored equally:
1st place: 1 point
2nd place: 2 points
3rd place: 3 points
4th place: 4 points
And so on...
Team scores consist of the top 4 placings, and the goal is the LOWEST overall team score. Additional runners don't add to the score, but they can help by bumping runners from other teams down in the rankings. Teams may be all one gender running the same race, or any combination of distances and genders you choose. There's no limit to the number of racers from a single club: the more the merrier. There's a tiny bit of strategy involved, as a "perfect" team score of 4 (four wins) actually requires multiple distances and genders.

COURSE
All races are held on the grounds of Stable View in Aiken. The 1-mile Steeplechase course features small horse jumps, ditches, banks and possibly water.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
A race T-shirt (T-shirts and exact sizes are not guaranteed after January 15, 2027)
After the race, amazing food from Stable View's famous Graze and Gaze. Relax, play lawn games and mingle while you wait for your team to finish.
RACE AWARDS
The winning team's name will be engraved on a perpetual trophy displayed at Stable View.
Individual trophies will be awarded to winners.
RACE POLICIES
The event will proceed rain or shine.
Requests to change or merge teams must be made by 12:00 PM on Friday, January 22.
T-shirts and exact sizes are not guaranteed after January 15, 2027.
