This race is a fundraiser for Huntington High Cross-Country and also to serve a purpose bigger than ourselves a portion of our proceeds will go toward the Facing Hunger Foodbank.
The course starts at Harris RiverFront Park and then runs downtown and loops through Marshall’s campus and then returns to the park.
Packet Pickup and Race-Day Registration
Packet pickup and race-day registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31.
A check-in table will be located near the 12th Street entrance to Harris Riverfront Park.
Race Start
Both the 5K and 5 Miler will begin at 8:00 a.m.
The starting line will be located at the far end of the parking lot near the 12th Street entrance.
Course Information
The 5K and 5-mile courses begin and end in the same locations. Both races will exit and reenter Harris Riverfront Park through the 10th Street entrance.
The primary difference between the courses is:
5K participants will turn left onto Hal Greer Boulevard. 5 Miler participants will continue along 5th Avenue to approximately 19th Street before turning back. A water station will be available approximately 1.5 miles into the 5K and shortly before the 3-mile mark of the 5 Miler.
Awards
The awards ceremony will begin shortly after the age-group results have been finalized.

0-10 11-20 21-30 31-40 41-50 51-60 60 and older
Custom River City 5 Mile Keychains are awarded to the top 3 overall in the 5k and 5 mile race and the top two in each age group
Cash Prizes for the top 3 overall in the 5 miler are as follows*:
1st-$150 2nd-$75 3rd-$50
*High school and collegiate athletes are responsible for verifying that participation and/or acceptance of prize money complies with all applicable school, state association, NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, USATF, or other governing-body rules. Any declined prize money will be donated directly to Facing Hunger Foodbank. In general High School athletes should not accept cash prizes
Food Drive for Facing Hunger Foodbank
Please consider bringing a nonperishable food item to donate to Facing Hunger Foodbank. A collection container will be located near the check-in area.
