About This Event

Fall 2026 Kids 5K training in Cary is brought to you by Triangle Run Smart Training, presented by Pace Yourself Run Company and The Running PTs.

Class is 8 weeks long, meeting once per week, and is geared toward kids aged 8-14 years old. The goal of the class is to have fun, get healthy, and work their run endurance up to running a 5K at the end of the season. ALL levels & paces are welcome! Kids will be grouped in smaller pace groups after a timed mile so they can train with similar paces. Class will be capped at 40 registrants.

Cost of the class is $70. No refund and no deferral if you drop out of the class after registering. Please do not register if you're unsure of your child's schedule and have a potential conflict with another activity. No class switches after registering.

Cost includes: 8 weeks of 1 coached workout per week, a season training plan with suggested workouts on non-class days as well, 20% off discount at Pace Yourself Run Company (some restrictions apply), educational information coordinated by The Running PTs, a medal, and a training shirt.

If you have financial difficulty in affording a training class, please contact us. We have a donation program that can help out.

Coaches Patti Tiernan & Tara Wind will coach this class.

Program dates: August 25, 2026 - October 13, 2026. 1 class per week: Tuesdays 6:00-7:00pm for August & September dates; class will meet 5:30-6:30pm for October dates (due to losing daylight). The class will meet at New Hope Church Trailhead Park in Cary (2575 New Hope Church Road, Cary, NC 27519).
