WE RUN TO REMEMBER Friday, September 11, 2026 Tomorrow morning, we come together for something much bigger than a run. We Run to Remember is a 3.8-mile memorial run honoring the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, the first responders who answered the call, and all those whose lives were forever changed that day.
Please read through these instructions before arriving.
⏰ MORNING SCHEDULE 7:00 a.m. — Please Arrive Please plan to arrive by 7:00 a.m. This will give you plenty of time to check in, receive your shirt and select a memorial bib.
7:00–7:30 a.m. — Shirt & Bib Pickup The first 100 registered participants who attend/register will receive a commemorative We Run to Remember shirt.
We will also have bibs available.
7:35 a.m. — Memorial Ceremony & Instructions We will gather together for a short ceremony to remember those we lost, honor the first responders and heroes of September 11, and review important course and safety instructions.
7:46 a.m. — RUN STARTS We will begin promptly at 7:46 a.m. Central Time — 8:46 a.m. Eastern Time, marking the moment the first plane struck the North Tower.
👟 THE COURSE Distance: 3.8 Miles
The 3.8-mile distance symbolically represents the journey up and down both Twin Towers.
The course will be marked.
IMPORTANT: The roads are NOT closed.
Please:
Stay on the sidewalks whenever possible. Obey all traffic signals and crossing rules. Use caution at every intersection. Do not assume vehicles will stop for runners. Every step is taken in remembrance of the 2,977 lives lost, the first responders who gave everything, and the countless heroes who continue to serve our communities today.
