    About This Event

Dusty Cyclocross, A Cyclocross Race for Women+ Riders

Never heard of cyclocross? Perfect. This race is for you. Do you love CX and want some more time on the course? You got it here.

Dusty Cross is a women+'s cyclocross race for anyone who wants to try out one of the most fun, chaotic, and addictive styles of bike racing out there, without the men's and junior men's fields in the mix. Just women and non-binary riders, a weird and wonderful course, and a whole lot of good energy.

So what even is cyclocross? Think of it as an obstacle course on a bike. You'll loop around a course that might include grass, dirt, barriers, off-camber turns, a run-up or two, and whatever else the course designers felt like throwing in. It's fast, it's weird, and it's a blast. You can ride a gravel bike, a cyclocross bike, or a mountain bike...whatever you've got works. Expect to be on the bike, then off the bike and running with it over and around and through obstacles, and then jumping back on. Or, maybe you're the unicorn who has the skills to ride them all!

How does it work? The lead rider will complete enough laps to total roughly an hour of racing. Everyone finishes on the leader's lap, so if the leader does 6 laps and you're on your 5th when she crosses the line, you're done at 5. Once you're out there, it's genuinely hard to tell who's winning unless it's you, and that's part of the fun.

    What to expect:

No experience necessary Gravel, CX, or MTB bikes all welcome Timing is very unofficial (we're talking pencil and paper) Podium prizes and extra prizes (TBD!) Costumes strongly encouraged Spectators and hand-ups make everything better — bring your people and bring some snacks to hand out Come for the race, stay for the chaos. Dusty Cross is an experience not to be missed, if you like bikes :)
