    About This Event

The Western North Carolina VA Health Care System is honored to host its 2nd annual Pink Platoon 5K Run/Walk at the Charles George VA Medical Center on Saturday, October 10, starting at 9:00 a.m. In commitment to the countless people impacted by breast cancer, this event is dedicated to fostering health, solidarity, and hope for our community. Participants are encouraged to show their support by pinking-out in their brightest pink attire — tutus especially welcome!

The event is family-friendly, community-focused, and free of cost, welcoming participants of all ages. In addition to the 5K, a Resource Fair will take place, offering VA and community resources to support wellness, education, and awareness.

Registration is now open! Spots are limited to 200 runners. All participants must register to obtain a bib-number and receive event updates!

    Safety Message:

Always follow the marked racecourse. Cones, signs, and course marshals will guide you along the route. Stay alert for uneven surfaces, curbs, and changes in pavement around the VA Medical Center grounds. Walk or run at a safe, comfortable pace. If you need to stop, move to the side to allow others to pass. No pets allowed for the race.

A hydration station will be available along the route—please remember to stay hydrated before and after the event. The Charles George VA Medical Center is an active hospital, so please be mindful and always follow the instructions of course marshals and race staff.
