Lake Los Angeles Desert Sunrise 5K
Run the desert. Catch the sunrise. Support the community.
Experience the beauty of the Mojave Desert at sunrise during the Lake Los Angeles Desert Sunrise 5K, a community race taking place in Lake Los Angeles, California, in the eastern Antelope Valley.
As the sun rises over the desert, runners and walkers will make their way through Lake Los Angeles surrounded by desert buttes, wide-open landscapes, local landmarks, and sweeping views of the Mojave Desert sunrise. The mostly paved, out-and-back course features mild elevation changes and welcomes experienced runners, casual runners, walkers, families, and community members of all abilities.
But the Desert Sunrise is about more than the race.
The 5K brings people together in Lake Los Angeles to celebrate the beauty, character, and community of the rural Antelope Valley while raising funds for two nonprofit organizations serving local families: SBCC and Helping Hands AV.

Before and after the race, participants and their families can enjoy community festivities, amazing desert views, connect with local organizations, discover resources available throughout the Antelope Valley, and spend the day getting to know the Lake Los Angeles community.
