Lake Los Angeles Desert Sunrise 5K

Thank you for visiting the event website. You are looking at the 1st Annual Lake Los Angeles Desert Sunrise Event and we hope you can join us on October 24th , 2026. We believe this 5K shall bring people together in Lake Los Angeles to celebrate the beauty, character, and community of the rural Antelope Valley while raising funds for two nonprofit organizations serving local families: SBCC and Helping Hands AV. Beyond Excellence- the for profit wellness organization, also teams up with SBCC and Helping Hands AV, on a mission to motivate participants to be the better version of the themselves.
If you are a visiting, the inaugural event is crafted to offer you insight into the community of Lake Los Angeles by providing local vendors, warmth of a community, and environmental elements along the racecourse often overlooked. If you live locally, this activity offers an opportunity to connect with visitors, neighbors and discover resources and experiences closer to home. All of us local and far however, shall take off at 7a that morning under the blanket that is Lake Los Angeles Sunrise.
Regarding race day, the sun is expected to rise a little after 7am. Whether you're walking or running, you can take advantage of our early bird prices for both activities, along with special rates for youth 13 and under, right now! Runners and walkers will make their way through Lake Los Angeles surrounded by desert buttes, wide-open landscapes, local landmarks, and sweeping views of the Mojave Desert sunrise. The mostly paved, out-and-back course features mild elevation changes and welcomes experienced runners, casual runners, walkers, families, and community members of all abilities.
After the race, you can expect community activities and vibes. Participants and their families can enjoy the DJ and Speakers facilitating the event under amazing desert views, connect with local organizations that offer valuable support, discover local vendors and their products. Spend the day getting to know the Lake Los Angeles community.
