New Year's 5K & Kids Half Mile
Start the New Year on the right foot!
Kick off the year with fresh goals, good company, and a few miles at the New Year's 5K! Whether you're chasing a new personal best, starting a New Year's resolution, or simply looking for a fun way to get moving with family and friends, this race is the perfect way to begin the year.
Join us on January 2nd for a paved 5K designed for runners and walkers of all abilities. We're also getting the youngest runners involved with a FREE Kids Half Mile, making this a great event for the entire family.

Bring the kids and let them start the year running, too! The Kids Half Mile is completely FREE and gives our youngest participants a chance to experience the excitement of race day in a fun and welcoming environment.

Awards
Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers in the 5K, along with the top three finishers in each age group category. Every Kids Half Mile finisher gets their own moment crossing the finish line — no clock required.
Good to Know
Where will the race actually be held? The final venue, parking information, and course map are still being finalized. We'll announce the location here — along with packet pickup details — as soon as it's confirmed.
What time does the race start — 9:00 or 10:00 AM? We're deciding between the two. The final start time will be posted on this page and shared with everyone already registered as soon as it's locked in.
The Kids Half Mile is free — do I still need to register my child? Yes. Registering ahead of time, even at no cost, helps us plan for every young runner on race day.
Is the course okay for walkers, strollers, or first-timers? Yes — the 5K is a paved course designed for runners and walkers of all abilities.
Registration & Transfer Policy
All registrations are managed through your RunSignUp profile. You can transfer your entry to another runner, switch between the 5K and Kids Half Mile, transfer to a different Upstate Race Series event, update your personal details, or manage add-ons and apparel — all without contacting us. All entries are final; we're unable to offer refunds or deferrals.
