SEE THE PERSON. NOT THE HOMELESSNESS.
HTR Nonprofit presents the 1st Annual Homeless Awareness Race 2026.
Join us for a Homeless Awareness Race centered on compassion, advocacy, education, and community action. Our message is simple: “See the Person. Not the Homelessness.”
This event encourages us to look beyond the label of “homeless” and recognize the person, their story, strengths, challenges, and dignity. Experiencing homelessness is a circumstance—not a person’s identity.
We connect homelessness to the larger picture of human services, peer support, education, disability services, and community networking. By recognizing the many factors that can affect housing stability, we can move beyond stereotypes and toward meaningful support, connection, and solutions.
A key goal of this race is to provide hygiene bags filled with essential personal-care items to individuals experiencing homelessness. These simple necessities can offer more than practical support—they can help restore a sense of wholeness, dignity, confidence, and care. Through community donations and participation, we hope to remind every person who receives a bag that they are seen, valued, and worthy of dignity.
Our race brings together individuals, families, service providers, advocates, educators, and community partners to create stronger networks of support. Together, we can raise awareness, connect people with resources, and advocate for a community where everyone has the opportunity to experience stability, dignity, and belonging.
See the Person. Not the Homelessness. See the Whole Community.
Run with purpose. Walk with compassion. Give with dignity. Connect with humanity.
