Something is lurking on the Long Beach coastline. The legendary Chupacabra has made its way to the beach—and this time, you’re not running away from it. You’re chasing it for 31 miles.
Welcome to the Chupacabra 50K, a flat, fast and fully supported beachfront endurance event built for runners ready to go beyond the half marathon, chase a new distance, or take on their first ultra.
Whether you're tackling the 5K, 10K, stepping up to 18 miles, or going all the way to 50K, choose your distance and get ready to hunt the legend.
18 MILE + 50K The 18-mile and 50K races begin at 6:30 AM and follow a six-mile beachfront loop from the start, along the Long Beach pedestrian path to Alamitos Beach and back.
18 Mile: Three 6-mile loops 50K: Five 6-mile loops + 1.07-mile out-and-back Time Limit: 6 hours Course Closes: 12:30 PM
All 18-mile and 50K participants must complete their distance within the six-hour course limit.
5K + 10K The 5K and 10K begin at 8:00 AM, bringing even more runners and energy to the beachfront course while our ultra runners continue their hunt.
RACE-DAY SCHEDULE 6:00 AM: Bib pickup opens 6:30 AM: 18 Mile + 50K start 8:00 AM: 5K + 10K start 12:30 PM: Course closes
YOUR REGISTRATION INCLUDES Custom Chupacabra finisher medal, professional chip timing, live race results, free race photos, fully supported course and water stations, finish-line celebration with DJ + MC, and overall and age-group awards.
Runners, walkers and friendly dogs are welcome in the 5K and 10K. Participants in the 18 Mile and 50K should be prepared to maintain the pace necessary to finish within the six-hour course limit.
