Come support America's Heroes and test yourself with the Step Up for America's Heroes Stair Challenge! Climb 2,200 steps to complete the ultimate stair climb challenge. Why 2,200 stairs? Because that is how many stairs it was to the top of the World Trade Center when firefighters, law enforcement, military personnel, and civilians unselfishly and willingly climbed the stairs to save others during the September 11th terrorist attacks. Climb the stairs to honor, remember, and commemorate these brave heroes and their sacrifices, both, during the attack and after the attack when American military personnel were sent to fight in the Middle East during the Global War on Terrorism.
This event will be happening at Community Memorial Stadium at Mt. Pleasant High School. There will be doughnuts and beverages for participants. If you would rather not climb all 2,200 stairs but still want to participate, that is totally fine, climb as many as you are comfortable with. Not a stair climber? We also have the track around the football field you may walk or run around. This event is free but we do ask that you make a donation toward the Disabled American Veterans organization. Our goal is $1,100!
