43rd Annual Red Shoe Run & Walk 5K
Lace up your shoes and join us for the 43rd Annual Red Shoe Run & Walk 5K on Sunday, May 2, 2027, at Lower City Park in Iowa City!
Hosted by Ronald McDonald House Eastern Iowa & Western Illinois, this annual community tradition brings people together to support families with children receiving medical care. Every step helps provide comfort, support, and a place to call home so that families can stay together.
Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or participating virtually, there's a place for you! This family-friendly event welcomes all ages and abilities, with strollers and leashed pets welcome, too.
Enjoy pre-race snacks, a kids' zone, awards for top runners across multiple age groups, and a FREE lunch after the race! Come for the 5K, stay for the fun, and be part of something that makes a difference for families in our community.
Make an Even Bigger Impact! Want to do more than cross the finish line? Create a team with friends, family, or coworkers, or set an individual fundraising goal! Every dollar raised helps Ronald McDonald House provide comfort, care, and support to families when their child needs medical care.
And there's a little extra motivation to fundraise! We're offering special incentives for both teams and individual fundraisers. Check out the fundraising squares below to learn more and see how you can make an even bigger difference!
