MAW’s Cause was founded in 2017 in Knoxville, TN by Brittanie and Ben Weaver.  After the death of their 4 month old son, Mason Archer Weaver, to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), The Weavers made it their life mission to help prevent other parents from facing this life-changing tragedy. In 2018, MAW’s Cause became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against SIDS and SUDC by building community awareness, educating parents/caregivers and supporting leading research efforts.  Over 4000 infants age newborn to one year old die each year from SIDS, with 7-12 in Knox County alone.   MAW’s Cause strives to intersect new parents in the community with our newborn Halo Sleep Sack program at local hospitals, as well as raise money for continued research.  We will remember the children taken too soon during our 5K event.
