Come to rural Killingworth, CT to run (or hike) the Deer Lake Trail Run. Deer Lake Outdoor Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to accessible outdoor education while protecting their more than 250 acres of green space and miles of trails. The challenging 5(ish)-mile course, involving almost 500 ft of elevation gain, traverses the property and offers many scenic views as you navigate the ever-changing elevations on well-marked trails. This is a true trail course, and the technical nature of the terrain will mean that you will be exposed to rocks, roots, possible mud, etc. There will be awards for male & female winners in each age group listed below as well as the overall male & female winners.
New for 2027! We have a 1(ish)-mile trail course for kids and the young-at-heart. Just like the 5-mile course, the 1-mile kids trail run will be timed, will include rocks, roots, and more, and awards for the top finishers.

$30 through March 14th $35 March 15th - April 14th $40 April 15th - April 24th $45 on race day
ENTRY FEES - Kids 1 Mile Trail Run
$15 through March 14th $20 March 15th - April 14th $25 April 15th - April 24th $30 on race day
AWARDS: Awards will be given to the overall male and female winners and the m/f winners for each of the following age groups: 0 - 12 yrs. (Please note that anyone participating under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult along the entire racecourse) 13-19 yrs. 20-29 yrs. 30-39 yrs. 40-49 yrs. 50-59 yrs. 60-69 yrs. 70+ yrs.
