Virtual races
A virtual distance is run on your own course, on your own schedule, during the window the race sets. You enter your own finish time from your ticket, and the race director adds it to the results.

A virtual distance registers like any other. Some stay open for weeks after race day while the in-person distances have closed: the race page then reads "Registration open:" followed by the distance you can still pick, and the closed distances say so on their rows. Each distance shows when it closes.
When a race takes self-submitted times for your distance, your ticket on the race page (and in the Run This app) shows a Submit your time strip with the deadline. The ticket stays on the page after race day until that deadline passes.
Open the race page and tap Submit time
Sign in, open the race you registered for, and tap Submit time on your ticket. In the app the same strip sits on your ticket on the race screen.Enter your finish time
Minutes and seconds, like 27:43, or hours, minutes and seconds, like 1:02:15.Add proof, if the race asks for it
A photo of your watch or your running app's screen, or a link to the activity on Strava, Garmin or wherever you track runs. Some races require one or the other; the form says so. A note to the director is optional.Send it
Your ticket shows the time you sent and that the director is reviewing it. Until it is approved you can tap Change to fix a mistake.
- Once the director approves it, your ticket says your time is in the results. It appears on the race's results page when the director publishes that distance, with a finisher card and a trophy like any other finish.
- If the director turns it down, your ticket shows their reason and a Send again button while submissions are open.
- After the deadline you can't send or change a time. Contact the race director from the race page if something went wrong.
Who sees your proof
Registered someone else, like your kid? Their ticket has its own strip, so you can send their time too. More about tickets in Registering and your receipts.
