    For charity partners

    Your charity partner page

When a race sends its donations straight to your organization's own account, the race's payments manager can invite you to a page on Run This that shows every gift, your payout status, and a CSV for your books.

    Who this is for

A race can raise money for your organization in two ways on Run This. It can collect donations itself and hand them over afterward, or it can connect your organization's own payout account so that every donation made on its Donate page, and every donation added during registration checkout, settles with you directly. This page is for the second case. If you are the treasurer, development director, or whoever keeps the books for a charity that receives donations this way, the charity partner page is your record.

    Getting access

    1. The event's payments manager opens the event's Payments page on Run This and, under Charity partner payouts, enters your email address and sends an invite.
    2. You receive an email from Run This with an Accept button. The link works for 14 days and only for the address it was sent to.
    3. Accepting asks you to sign in to Run This with that address, or to create a free account with it. Your email must be verified before the invite can be accepted, so if you just created the account, check your inbox for the verification link first.
    4. Once accepted, Charity partner appears in your Run This menu (on the website and in the app under Settings) and the page fills in.

More than one person can be invited. The payments manager can also remove a contact at any time, which only takes away the charity page; the person's Run This account is not affected.

    What the page shows

    • Totals. Received all time, received this calendar year, the number of gifts, and the total refunded. Received means the gift amount net of any refund, so a refunded gift never keeps counting.
    • Payouts. Whether your account is ready to receive money, and the most recent payout. If your organization has its own Stripe account, there is a button to open your Stripe dashboard. If the account was set up through Run This as a bank account payout, there is no separate Stripe login: payouts arrive by direct deposit on Stripe's schedule, and this page is your record.
    • Events raising money for you. Every event whose donations settle with your account, with its date, gift count, and the amount received. An event that later disconnects your account stays listed for the gifts it already sent.
    • Gifts received. Each gift with its date, the donor's first name, the event, who inside the event's fundraiser the donor chose to support, the amount, any processing fees the donor covered on top, and its refund status. A gift made during registration checkout is listed the same way as one made on the Donate page; the entry fees from that checkout went to the event, and only the gift came to you.
    • Download CSV. The same rows as a spreadsheet, on the website version of the page.

    What you see about donors

Donors are shown by first name only, or as Anonymous when they asked not to be named. A company that donated is shown by the organization name it chose to display. You do not see a donor's email address, last name, or postal address: the donor's relationship is with the event, and the event handles any donor correspondence. What you see is for keeping your own records of the donations you received.

    Receipts and refunds

Run This emails every donor a receipt. When a gift settled with your account, the receipt names your organization as the recipient, through the event. If the event has verified your organization's 501(c)(3) status on its Payments page, the receipt also carries the standard tax-deduction language with your legal name and EIN. If a director refunds a gift, the money comes back out of your Stripe balance and the page marks the gift as refunded, so your books match Stripe's. Everyone linked to your charity also gets an email for each refund: which gift, how much came back, whether it was the whole gift or part of it, and the director's note when there is one.

    Something look wrong?

Questions about a specific gift or donor go to the event's director. Questions about the page itself, or about your payout account, go to Run This through the contact page.
