Setting up a fundraiser

A fundraiser adds a Donate button to your event page and an optional thermometer showing progress toward a goal. You control how much athletes see, and whether the donation prompt appears during registration.

Enabling the fundraiser

From your event's Edit page, open the Fundraiser card. Check "Enable fundraiser" and set your goal in dollars. The goal is optional, so leave it blank if you don't want a visible target.

A live preview of what athletes will see appears below the form. If your event hasn't taken any donations yet, the preview uses a sample 35% fill clearly labeled "Sample data" so you can see how it'll look at progress.

Show or hide the progress

The "Show progress on event page" toggle controls whether athletes can see your goal and how much has been raised. The Donate button is not part of this toggle: it sits next to Register on your event page whenever the fundraiser is on, and it stays there after race day until you turn the fundraiser off.

On (default): the fundraiser panel shows on your event page (caption, bar, raised total, and its own Donate button), and the donate page shows the goal bar.
Off: the panel and the goal bar are hidden. Athletes still see the Donate button next to Register. Useful when you want to accept donations without showing the goal or progress publicly. If you show your supporters (below), the panel stays with just the supporters line and its Donate button.

Show your supporters

Turn on Show your supporters to list this year's gifts from your donate page on that page, newest first, and to add one small line under the progress on your event page that cycles through the newest gifts. It is its own switch, so you can show your progress, your supporters, both, or neither.

Donors show as first name and last initial, as their company for a company gift, or as “Anonymous” if they chose it.
A donor can choose to hide their amount. Their gift still shows, without it. A note left with a gift shows under it.
Gifts added during registration count toward your total but are not listed by name, because registration does not ask donors how they want to appear.
Refunded gifts leave the list.
The line on your event page pauses when someone points at it, has its own pause button, and stays still for visitors who turn on reduced motion.

To take one gift off the list, for example a note you would rather not show, open Finance insights, open the gift in the Payments list, and choose Hide from supporters list. It still counts toward your total, and you can show it again the same way. Changes reach your public pages within a minute.

What counts toward your total

By default the "amount raised" is your donations, every donation a supporter gives, whether they use the Donate button or add one during registration checkout. Both land in the same total. For events where the entry fees themselves are the fundraiser (a lot of charity races), you can fold more in with the checkboxes on the Fundraiser card:

Count registrations in the total: adds what your event keeps from entry fees to the thermometer. Off by default.
Count sponsor payments: adds paid sponsor invoices to the thermometer. Off by default.
Count giveaways / merch: adds paid giveaway (merch) sales. Off by default. Note this counts the full sale price, which includes what you paid for the items, so it reads higher than what actually nets to your cause.

Leave them all off and the thermometer shows donations only.

Each dollar is counted once

Entry fees and merch are separate switches, so if someone pays $40 to enter and buys a $10 shirt, that's $40 under registrations and $10 under merch, never $50 in both. Tick all four boxes and the thermometer shows everything your event brought in, each dollar once.

Donation amounts

Pick the amounts donors can choose with one tap. Your Donate page and registration checkout show the same amounts, and donors can always type their own amount instead. Checkout also offers $0, so adding a donation stays optional.

The standard ladder is $5, $10, $25, $50, $100. Click any chip to remove it, type a new amount and click Add, or click "Reset defaults" to restore the standard ladder. If you remove every chip, donors see the standard ladder.

How donations are collected today

Athletes can add a donation during registration checkout. It rides on the same payment and your event receives 100% of the chosen amount. Supporters who aren't registering can give on your event's standalone Donate page, which runs its own secure checkout and emails each donor a receipt.

Events with a charity partner

On an event with a charity partner payout slot, donations go to the charity's own account instead of yours, whether they come from the Donate page or from registration checkout. At checkout the athlete still pays once: the entry fees go to your event, the charity receives 100% of the gift, and the donation tile tells the athlete where the gift is going. The gift gets its own receipt. Until the charity finishes its payout setup, checkout shows a paused notice instead of the donation amounts and the Donate page can't take gifts, so a donation never lands with your event by mistake. Your donor list

The Donor list card on this page downloads everyone who gave this year as a spreadsheet file: one row per gift, whether it came through your donate page or was added during registration, with names, emails, amounts, notes, and any refunds. Donors who chose Anonymous are included and marked, because Anonymous hides a name from the public, not from you. For a past year, open Finance insights, pick the year, and use Download donor list in the Donations card.

A note about the thermometer

The thermometer on your event page animates from 0% to the current amount when it scrolls into view. Buttery 60fps fill and dollar-count-up, respecting users' reduced-motion preference. It's designed to feel a little celebratory.
