Adding a co-director

From your event's Edit page, find the Directors card (in the Run This app, open Co-directors). Click Add co-director, type their email address, and press Continue. What happens next depends on whether that address already has a Run This account.

• They have an account: you'll see the name on that account so you can check it's the right person. Confirm, and they're added right away. They get a notification in their Run This inbox with a link straight to the event's dashboard.
• They don't have an account yet: we email them an invite. Before it sends, you'll see the address in large type with the part after the @ highlighted, plus a warning if it looks like a common typo (like gmial.com). Tick I checked the spelling and press Send invite.

Adding a personal note

Both paths have an optional Personal note box (up to 500 characters). For an invite, the note appears in the invite email and on the page they open to accept. For someone who already has an account, the note is added to their notification and also sent to them in a short email.

How invites work

• The person opens the link, then creates a free Run This account (or signs in) with the exact address you invited.
• They confirm the address using the verification email Run This sends, then press Accept. They're added as a co-director, and you get a notification.
• The link works for 14 days and only once. If someone forwards it, it won't work for anyone signed in with a different address.
• Open invites show under Pending invites on the same card. Resend emails a fresh link (the old one stops working), and Cancel turns the link off.
• If the director who sent an invite is removed from the event before it's accepted, that invite stops working too.

What co-directors can do

• Edit every field on the event.
• Add and remove sub-events.
• Publish, postpone, cancel, and renew the event.
• Manage registrations, the roster, exports, and day-of tools, including refunding and cancelling registrations and refunding donations.
• Run race-day check-in.
• Respond to comments as a director.
• Add, invite, and remove other co-directors.
• Receive a copy of every email the event sends from the builder, plus the check-in setup and renewal reminders.

A few messages stay with the lead director only: questions athletes send from the event page, timing-fee requests, and any notice about the listing itself. Those are decisions or conversations that need one owner rather than a group.

The exception: money

Payout setup, transaction details, and paying off the fee tab belong to the event's payments manager, by default the director who set up payouts. Other co-directors see a locked Payments panel that names who manages it, and the manager can hand that role to another director at any time. See Payouts and Refunds for the details.

Removing access

Anyone with director access can remove a co-director from the same Directors card. The original creator (the person who first made the event) can't be removed by anyone except Run This admins. They're the audit-trail owner.
